Action Plan of IMEC – Media Education Centre (organization is part of the Faculty of Mass Media Communication, University of St.Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, Slovakia).

IMEC - Media Education Centre has the following main objectives:

(1) Mapping the state of media education in Slovak Republic and other countries, providing information on all educational and research projects on topics of media education, media literacy, media education and digital literacy.
(2) Creating a single database and archiving research materials focusing on media education in Slovakia and other countries.
(3) Create a library of publications both domestic and foreign sources on the issue (including textbooks and methodological materials).
(4)Create an archive of multimedia materials (including samples and examples for teaching media education syllabus for primary and secondary schools).
(5) Regularly updating the website www.medialnavychova.sk
(6)Providing continuing education for teaching staff in secondary schools in the subject of media education.
(7) Organize educational activities with the theme of media education for students and teachers
(8) Co-organization of international conferences, seminars and support public debate on issues related to the themes of media education, media literacy and media training.
(9) Lifelong informal educational activities for parents, educators, people working with young people and other target groups, which may be interested in the topic of media education.
(10) Disclosure of basic information and materials on media education (a glossary, research results, articles, parts of textbooks, the presentation of conferences, etc..).
(11) Ensuring and providing examples of practical work with media handling students of primary and secondary schools (sound and television studios of the Faculty of Mass Media Communication of UCM in Trnava, Slovakia).
(12) Providing information campaign on the topic media education towards the general public.
